You want to stay feeling good so you can enjoy the paaaaaartay!
Well, don't drink more than your body and mind can handle.
You should always eat a meal-- a half an hour before you drink.
Never down your drinks, drink them slowly and keep eating small
tib-bits of snacks through-out-the-night. You can watch everyone else get stupid, & out of their minds crazy with alcohol consumption while you have a good time feeling better about having total control over your own situation. "Think outside the bottle, and outside the crowd!" Have Fun!

A couple red bull and vodkas will put some pep in your step... but you may not get to sleep when you want to if you drink too many. Keep it fruity if you can. Drinking beer for your first time drinking probably is not best. Beer is an acquired taste, and you have not yet. Good beer feels bad in large quantity, cheap beer tastes cheap. Stick with margarita, rum and coke, vodka and cranberry, or simple ask the bar tender (or friend who will mix you a drink) for their favorite.
My wife swears by B12 to help keep away a hangover. I have never done it. The very best thing you can do is drink a large glass of water before bed. This will help to start the rehydration. Eat a large high starch meal before the party gets going so you have something in your stomache. Be careful, do not go too fast. Shots and downing drinks adds up in a hurry. If you really want to go the long haul, remember the tortise and the hare. That turtle may have been slow, but he finished. Don't pound your drinks if you want to last the night. And please make sure not to drive. Newbie drinkers have a way of not being adble to admit when they are drunk, and especially when they should not be driving.

I assume you have a safe way home. Other than that, the first time I drank beer was at college and it was nasty beer. I was told to just finish, the first one always goes down the worst. Watch yourself. Nobody else will. Stay away from hard alcohol, that hits after you drink it. Like, 15 minutes later you'll be flat on your a**. Stick with the light stuff. Sip, don't chug.
Have fun and be safe hon!

Getting Drunk is pretty different experience. Don't be afraid though, or you will psych yourself out. You can't go into it planning every move like a moon-landing. Seriously just be yourself. Water is of course GOOD! Should you drink too much don't be afraid to throw up. But that shouldn't happen till at least 8 drinks in.
Honest advice is don't be stupid, no one is stupid enough to dance on a table unless they're already partially within that mentality while sober. If you're with honest friends you will probably be in good company, and watch after your friends just the same as they watch after you.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: Drink only as much as YOU want. You're there to have fun right? Don't be AFRAID of having another drink if you WANT one. Don't be be PRESSURED into having another if you DON'T WANT one.
You will get used to it, and slowly find out your own limits. And don't be afraid of drinking ever again after you get a hangover. They happen to almost everyone and some people are more apt to get them. I personally get them pretty easily, but that didn't stop me from having one hell of a crazy first year in college. I've slowed down a bit, but partying is something everyone should try and figure out for themselves.
Don't buy into the "DON'T DRINK EVER" slogan. You may find out that alcohol is not for you, and more power to you. It isn't for everyone, BUT that is something you should find out by yourself. Which it sounds like you are going to do. So be safe, be yourself and have fun.

Feeling crappy after a beer huh? Try a Smirof With Ice. You might like it. If you choose wine get an Australian Shiraz. For a mix drink I would suggest a Jose Quervo Margarita

Here's a trick- don't down beers. Don't mix multiple types of alcohol, and make sure to take B12. Also, don't take aspirin or ibuprofen to avoid a headache as alcohol with either one has serious health risks. Drink water while you are drinking alcohol to keep hydrated.
And don't dance on tables, no matter what your friends say you should do! Other than that, have a good time and don't go on a mission to get drunk- you will either puke or pass out and neither is a good time.

If you really want to enjoy the party decide on how much you want to drink before hand and don't waiver.
Two drinks an hour is a reasonable amount. You will feel the affects of the alcohol but not loose control.
Intoxication frequently leads to a lowering of one's inhibitions, and intoxicated people will do things they would not do while sober.
So, to enjoy the party watch the people around you who get drunk and be glad that you are not one of them!

I usually take ibuprofen and drink plenty of water before I go out drinking. Try to drink some water in between a few drinks. This also helps. Don't over do it. Take your time and get to know your limit. Have fun!!
