It depends on what type of score it is.
There are many different comapnies that score credit.
Beacon, FICO, Empirica and many others.
FICO is the most universally used and ranges from 350-850 (which is the truth, dont listen to all of these other people who think they know what they are talking about)
If your 747 score is a FICO score, you would be in the 90th top percentile of people in the US with good credit.
I look at dozens of credit reports everyday, few of them are above 700. Maybe one out of 25.
So you are doing quite well.
Look at this article; it explains more about credit scores:

The credit bureau I checked my score from stated that 760 (my score at the time) was higher than 82% of the US population. myFICO.com states that 723 is the median (50% above and 50% below). 747 is above average. The range is 350 to 850.

Yes, that's considered excellent credit. According to Equifax, anything above 700 is excellent! Way to go, though! That's an awesome score...

That is considered to be excellent credit so congrats and keep up the good work. Just be careful having companies pull your credit reports because every time they do, it will lower your credit score. You can go to experian.com, equifax.com and transunion.com and check it out there. Also you can go to annualcreditreport.com and pull all 3 of your credits reports for free and compare them as well. We are all entitled to one copy of our credit report for free each year.
