I'm not sure of the rules if you are not from the US, but if you are a US citizen, your child will need a passport. My daughter had her first at 5-months old. Sears actually does a special service for infant and toddler passport photos since they can't always sit up straight & still for the photo at a normal shop. They were great with my daughter. Then just go through the same process as with an adult. It will be good for 5-years. If you are travelling without the other parent and that parent is listed on the child's birth certificate, you will also need a letter from the other parent saying it is okay for you to take the child out of the country, or have to go through a process to prove you cannot contact that person if that is the case.

Yes...passports are required for babies when travelling internationally. My younger Australian cousin had her first passport when she was less than a year old before she visited us here in the Philippines. I'm sure that rule is not only limited to Australians.

the respond isn't any! you are able to shuttle everywhere interior the US on Amtrak and not using a passport! exceedingly neat huh! think of getting on prepare in France and going to Spain or Germany devoid of one! no longer gonna get there!!!!!
