I'll provide a useful answer rather than the crap form all the rest of these jokers!
I recently bought a Ford Focus Zetec Climate (3 door), and I love it. It might not be a performance car, and it certainly isn't rare - but it is extremely comfortable and reasonably economical (ave 37 - 39 mpg most of the time).
I decided to opt for the bluetooth phone system and the sony stereo - and it looks and sounds great.
Lastly, if you get one, it is well worth upgrading to the 115hp 1.6 engine (only about £300 mor than 99hp). It makes a huge difference.

Depends what your after. Best in the range without question is the new ST!! I'm on my fourth!!! If fuel economy isn't an issue get one!!!!
For economy, either the 1.6 or 1.8 tdci is a great option, and won't disappoint on a performance level.
For spec.... the Zetec Climate has it all...but my personal preference would be the Titanium.
Best selling car for about 54 consecutive months barr a couple when the fiesta knocked it off. Ford 'doubters' are wrong!! the focus is, has been and always will be a tremendous car!!!!

Best economy: tdci
Best features: Ghia X.
Buy a 3 year old one with 50,000 miles. The deisel will last for 250,000 miles easy and the depreciation has mostly been suffered by the original owner.

better still, hang in there for the Volvo C30. Also Ford owned, but better motor (joint development with Peugot), not "mass" designed like a Ford, superb safety and, you will know where to find you car in the parking lot :)

i suggest you don't buy a Ford at all try buying a toyota corrolla or if your looking for a smaller car than that then try the Yaris it has proven never to break down. and if it does break down your just one of the most unluckiest people around no offence
