The cost of freedom was Blood, sweat, tears, loss, and many deaths. To procure what most American now see as Rights, took courage that almost no one has anymore...the hardships alone can't be truly understood by modern Americans, Who even in poverty have more than most others in this world.
The danger lies with in ourselves when we assume that we have the right to anything.....
Freedom in all it's forms that we enjoy in the USA, are abstractions the founding generations had to fight and put their lives at risk to bring to reality..
If we forget we will lose them. Freedom is not something that should be taken for granted, or look upon with anything but awe....
The United States is still the only country in the entire world whose citizens have this demonstrable kind of freedom....
Just look around...as a citizen you can criticize the government , the legal system, the police, the military with disdain and have no fear of repercussion or repression.

Dangerous to forget? Most have already forgotten!
We are living the danger as the result.

Because if people forget then US Presidents wont be able to 'sell' wars to the people just by using the word 'freedom'.

I can't believe you actually asked this question. If your dad died in a war, would you want anyone to forget that he died so that they could be free?
