My ex fiance broke up with me months ago, but we have talked recently and he's said things indicating that he still wants a future with me. However, he asked for his ring back claiming that it's stupid for me to keep it because a man's heart and soul is embodied in an engagement ring and having it keeps us connected. So, I went along with that bull and gave it back. Consequently, I haven't heard from him since, and it's been nearly two weeks. Before that he was taking me out every now and then and buttering me up making it seem like I was still the one he wanted. Does anyone else think that he was leading me on? Ensuring me a future, but all along having hidden intentions to get that ring back? I'm starting to feel stupid for even talking to him again, he just seemed so genuine. Sorry this is so long, I'm just really frustrated by this.

Yes, he was playing you. What he really wanted was the ring. Was it a valuable ring? He could have just asked for it and saved you both a lot of time. Who wants to keep an engagement ring from a broken engagement? It's not like you would use it again. He may want to give it to someone else. Just imagine it! He may give someone an used engagement ring! That should be enough humor to keep you laughing all day!

Blah blah blah blah blah. Quit feeling stupid and get over the prick. Why do women need a man in their life to complete them? You just need to be secure in who you are and be satisfied with yourself. Now if he wants you back, he will show it. A man will go to any length to be with the woman he truly loves. So don't buy some words he may spew out, make him prove his love to you. Even if you tell him to do some stupid things just to prove his love, he will do it unless he is trying for an easy mark.

You should be grateful you don't have anything from him anymore. That ring was a place holder. Now you are really free.
Good luck!
