These are the questions I asked myself before I became an atheist. People of faith would have you believe that malaria, Alzheimer's etc are simply tests of faith. I have a hard time believing an all loving god makes people suffer just to prove his existence. We need to stop excusing all the bad in the world as "god's mysterious ways" and accept the fact that if we humans on this earth don't take action on something, there is a pretty good chance it will go wrong. "God Bless America" doesn't protect America, people protect America. Praying for victims of a tragedy doesn't help them, giving them financial aid and disaster relief does. I find it interesting that when it comes to medicine, if someone dies the doctor screwed up but if someone lives it was a miracle. Belief in a god is comforting and its ok if people do, they just need to be honest about the limitations.

You must not no the bible or the teachings, God influences those that have a personally relationship with him- these things in the world happen for a reason- for the need for those to call his name & depend on him. Suffer on Earth before Heaven as Jesus Christ did on the cross! Those that harm others claim to be followers but real have the devil behind them; don't relate muslim or extreme christians to Real Christians- I feel the same way about Bush & the Katrina & the War & poverty

ok, so first of all... God DID expel devil from Heaven. 2d... without evil, there will be no such component almost as good. And 0.33.... the devil in basic terms represents the temptation of evil... keep in mind Adam and Eve? initially, God meant guy to stay in bliss and the team spirit of perfection. Then got here the inevitable temptation.... sin... and penance. One has to keep in mind that devil isn't ALL efficient, in spite of the indisputable fact that, he became an archangel in basic terms an same with many divine powers.... he's quite nasty in different words. Sooooo, in a experience sure. God needs devil to stability the equation... otherwise there will be no heaven... or judgement... or the use for a god even...

The resistance towards God's influence is made equal to acceptance of God's influence so that FREE will is made imminent and not remote control--the reflection of this relationship may be found in our interactions with our own children--we encourage them to create their own world in fairness and equity, yet we know that there will be times when they will choose things that may contradict those ideals--how much control should we exert without compromising their freedom to find their own higher self? As we mature in body and mind, the default position of the parent becomes more of a source of wisdom rather than the direct interaction that we received in our infancy--if our ability to choose remains with us, why would we seek to be controlled, or place blame as we discard free will, as though we have returned to our 'infancy' of former time? It seems as though we fail to realize that the world we live in is of our own design and that we DO have the ability to make it a better place--how many of us act on that knowledge or place blame when we fall short of our utopias?...

Ahhh...once again, someone thinks that God should control our every thought, word, deed, environment, etc.
Folks, get a clue. God turned his back on us and sent Jesus to us to be our arbitrator, because if he kept on dealing with us directly he would destroy us all. Look at the back of your hands....Do you see any strings? You are no one's puppet.
You have been granted free will, as has the rest of the earth. God will directly care for you in the next life. This life is to figure out if you want to him to or not. The choice is yours.
...And for the record, he does influence his followers not to harm others. He just doesn't control them.

GOD is all powerful. In his infinite wisdom he gave humans the
right of free will, What we do if it is for good or evil is up to each individual. GOD never said that people would not suffer, but he did promise to be with us as we go through trials and suffering. The greatest gift that he gave us is his son JESUS. came to earth
that we may have life in abundance according to his WILL.

Spoken like a true person locked in the box. Their would be no disease if man never fell away. But, our own free will destroyed us, and it still is. Man could have prevented it all, but we keep choosing not to, as we slowly head towards are own demise.

Malaria, arthritis and everything else you mention is not bad or good. Just your perception. God isn't trying to control our minds, it's up to us to choose whether we want to live on the side of truth or ignorance.

You have to know that God only interfers with certain things in our lives...If God interfered with everything as you are thinking, this world would be paradise, and then Hell and Heaven would be useless, because they are the prize or punishment one gets when he passes on to the next life

God has given His humans a thing called free will. He does not 'influence' us. He gave us a clear cut set of rules to obey and the power to choose not to obey them.
