I know I need to just talk to the tattoo place that would be doing it, but right now I'm just trying to get a feel for things. I'm not completely sure yet if I want to do this. So, for now I'm trying to find out as much as I can before I go talk to anyone about doing it. Any info would be a big help!

more tattoo places have minimums....it doest matter how small..they will usually never charge less than $35 to $45, because they still have to use a needle, set up, the clean up, sanitize everything....the size of a penny will usually run you about $45

Most places have a minimum, though that amount varies from shop to shop. You would have to GO IN, not call and show them what you want, tell them what colors and where. Find a price you like, but if I were you, I wouldnt pay more than $30 for a tattoo the size of a penny and then a bit more for tip.

Every reputable shop charges a minimum cost for their tattoos. I wouldn't suggest going somewhere where they'll only charge you 10 bucks because I doubt you can guarantee cleanliness or a good job. Most shops, the minimum is $50. So really, you have to decide if the tattoo is worth spending that kind of money on. Plus you have to figure out tipping too. It's terrible not to tip your artist.

It really depends on the tatto place you get it from. Some places have a base price (one place I know is $25 and the other parlor that I is know is $75), and that would be the minimum price you would have to pay, no matter how small it is. It's best to call and ask. I live in a town with a university, and the tattoo/peircing shop is very popular. Their base price is $25, to get more business and that is a very good price to pay. But other places you might spend alot more, and it is not worth the price. (but make sure the place is professional and clean!)

A lot of places its not the size that causes the cost. It's the use of the equipment. Some places tho will cut a deal. But a lot of the places around here it's just the fact that they have to use new needles, and sterilize everything. I love tattoos tho and if it's something you want for the rest of your life do it!!

They usually charge by the hour and for such a small tattoo you'll be around an hour at most. Most shops charge between $120 and $180 per hour.
Some shops might not want to do such a small tattoo though.

My rose bud (about the size of a quarter) cost me $50. So, I imagine your idea for a tattoo could be anywhere in the range of $45 - 65 depending on color, location, size and who's doing it. Tattooists all seem to have their own idea of what "good" pricing is for themselves.
