Once a year you are allowed a free credit report. If you call one of the credit reporting bureaus they have a automated machine that will tell you the rules and procedures to go by. I suggest experian.com They can help you.

go to annualcreditreport.com if you are in the United States. You can get one free report from each of the 3 credit reporting bureaus each year.

those websites that say "free credit report" actually want you to sign up (for a fee) for credit "monitoring" services.

If you want your credit SCORE you will have to pay for that, but get it from one of the 3 bureaus: Equifax, TransUnion, or Experian

Congrats on doing well with your finances! I know it isn't easy, but it is well worth it.

Whatever you do, DO NOT GO TO freecreditreport.com! This is a catchy name that sticks in people's heads and they assume that it is what is says it is, free but it is not the official place to get one. Under Federal Law the legit place to go is annualcreditreport.com. The other place tricks you by offering you one free report then asking you to pay for the others. You are entitled to get ALL 3 for free!! Good luck!
