Do you mean convert them to watch on a dvd player?

If so then DVD Flick from here:

If you have an dvd player that plays .avi files the just burn as a data disc with any burning software.

i would say Nero but as you are saying cheap then i must say Alcohol 120 and there is one Ashampoo software ....one of the best....... look here:

try nero software, its a good tool that also allows you to write to
CD-Rs and then reuse them
