i know i am bi-polar and it isn't any fun. you need to see a professional to have a clear cut diagnose. there are may ways to treat it. if left untreated life is a big hassle. never knowing what state of mind you will be in. there are mood swings that cycles. at times you are on top of the world and nothing can stop you, and other times life is the bottom and the depression can lead to suicidal thoughts. believe me i have experienced sever mood swings the cycles can last 1 day or 3months its up to each person. there is medication that is very helpful and does not have very many side effects. in order to understand bipolar disorder you have to understand it is a chemical imbalance in your brain. I hope this helps. check out www.wbmd on bipolar disorders

First off it is spelled BiPolar. You do need to see someone to actually get diagnosed first. This is something that needs to be treated with the right combo of meds because if you continue to let BiPolar go it does and will get worse over the years until you have a complete break like my husband did and then you will have no choice, but to want to be on meds. Please go and talk with someone and get the help you think you need. There is more to BiPolar than just mood swings. Also there are two types 1 and 2. This is a imbalance in the brain chemicals and will not just go away in time if it is truly BiPolar.

Bipolar disorder is a serious psychiatric condition and you should be very careful about self-identifying yourself as such if you have not received a formal diagnosis from a mental health professional. What you are describing sounds less like bipolar disorder and more like plan old poor emotional control. If you are experience significant negative consequences from your emotional highs and lows, you should see a psychologist and have him/her do an evaluation. You can find a qualified psychologist using the website below. If you are found to have bipolar disorder, the optimal treatment (unfortunately) is medication. However, if you just have poor emotional control, there talk therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (aka CBT) will be the best option.

If you are truly bipolar, you will need meds to control your mood swings. If your mood swings are within "normal" ranges, you can learn to control them somewhat. While I don't believe it is possible to have complete control over your emotions, I do believe you can "influence" your emotions.
Meditation is one method learning to control your emotions. Or at least learning to not let them control you. Allow yourself to feel the emotion and then let it go. Don't try to repress it. I suggest you join a meditation class. Working with an instructor will help you learn more quickly.

lets kick this off with the fact that you spelled BIPOLAR WRONG!!!!!!!! can you be what you cant spell... i doubt it!!!! I would say to take care of that problem... lock yourself in a padded room and get yourself an imaginary friend... because they dont make you mad and that is only because you control them... maybe you have control problems and your not BIPOLAR. I think Fred is a good name for an imaginary friend. yeah... your welcome for the help

bi polar (i suffer from it) is not what you describe it. Bi polar is when you get mad VERY mad over the dumbest things. your mood doesnt swing on a consistent basis. It just happens when you get mad.
