We are not adolescents, we are responsible and good friends. I feel angry more than sad. What can you tell me?

You say that you are responsible, good friends. If you were really a good friend, this conversation would not be happening. You are being taken advantage of. You need to look at the relationship and see what you're getting out of it compared to what you're putting into it. From where I sit, it sounds one-sided. Do you deserve better or do you deserve just what you are getting??

He needs a day planner or something. It's very discourteous to stand you up. Perhaps when he asks you out, you should call and ask him the day/evening before the date, if it's still on...

...or stop dating him. If you can find a way to make things change, then it's up to you to tolerate him "forgetting". I wouldn't keep being forgotten...to me that would say I'm a pretty low priority in his life.

my friend did the exact same thing to me. it sounds like he is just using you as a "back up" friend for times when he needs you around...but when something better comes along, he forgets about you. talk to him about it and let him know how you feel. that's what i did with my friend - i let her know that it hurt me a lot when she did that to me, and she said she didn't mean to and she didn't even know she was doing it. ever since then we've been a lot closer, so i'm glad i told her. you should tell your friend, and if he still doesn't change, then maybe you should consider if it's worth even being friends with him anymore.

Personally I say find a man who puts more value on you and will treat you better. If you want remain friends. But life is too short to be upset by people who don't treat you well.

He wasn't too busy to ask you out. Shame on him. That was rude and inconsiderate and very irresponsible of him. I think you should let him know how disappointed you are in him.

He is probably insecure. He probably is very confused. Your best bet is to stake your claim in him. Be assertive with him and he is yours.
