Clotting usually starts immediately, and for the blood flow to stop entirely depends on how fast the flow was to start with, how large the wound was, whether there was elevation and/or direct pressure applied, etc. For a smallish cut that had direct pressure and raising, the blood flow usually stops within ten minutes, but a scab doesn't form until a day or two later.

if u have a question about your clotting factor go to the dr, and have a ptt (prothrombintine factor) done.

it is a simple blood test

usually it starts after 40sec.of injury and ends up after3-4min.
