The gals I usually date are....how should I put this. Easy!! I am trying to change my dating habits and started dating a gal a bit closer to my own age( I am 43 she is in her mid thirtes). We have been on three dates now. I will be taking her out again tonight. She is unlike any gal I have dated in a very long time. I like her alot. We as of yet have not done anything romantic other than a couple of kisses( no tounge ). The girls I usually date hook up with me on the first date. I am going crazy. She has made it very clear that she likes me but said she likes to take things slowly. I have always had a three date rule and am breaking my own rule by going out again for the fourth time with out sex. I am trying to change my ways and she is helping me do that but how long is to long to wait?

First off I am so happy to read a question that has the correct spelling. Thank you-

Second off, it depends, she is probably wanting to take it slowly, b/c she has dated guys in the past that have just tried to get her in bed, and once they have, they leave- or the guys that only want to have sex.

I think if she is worth it and you really like her, then wait for her- it might not be as long as you think.

If you leave her b/c she wouldn't sleep with you, you just proved the reason why she made you wait- she wants to make sure it is for real.

So let me get this straight...if a woman doesn't put out by the third date you won't see her anymore? And then you wonder why you think the women you date are easy and want something more meaningful. Time to grow up slick. You are 43, not 23. Women your age tend to have kids and be divorced and don't want to get hurt. If you really care about somebody, you will wait until THEY are ready. I'd have dumped you by now.

I mean i can understand if its been like months, but a few dates is not too long. U seem to really dig HER as a whole so why should sex even be an option. I mean if it happens it happens. And when it does it will be worth it. Dont put pressure on yourself over this. How bout you aim for third base tonight? Next week maybe hit the home run!!!

You said you are changing so wait a while longer.
Maybe she has heard of your past and doesn't want to be a "victim" ya know? My old roomie had the give it up in two dates rule and word got out and now the ONLY girls that will date him are the ones that are only with other guys just like him.

If you really like this gal then you wait however long she needs you to wait! Don't ruin what could be the beginning of a possible future for you. Good luck with your trying to change your ways. Change can be a very good thing : )

If she's really worth you'll wait for however long it takes, and you can usually tell if a girl worth it or not. In my opinion easy girls are only worth just that a night. At least make me wait a little while, dang fast girls, there are many other ways to hook a man that would make us really want to fight for you. And you know that's what you really want, a man that's willing to do any for you (accept beg because you know he's a real man and real men don't beg they suc it up as my football coach always said)

There is no set time limit. If you sincerely like this woman, you need to change your thinking. Be patient and don't be pushy, It will happen when the time is right. Good things are worth waiting for. For me, I don't sleep around. What this does is it weeds out the guys that are only after sex. I value myself and expect anyone I date to treat me with respect. I hope it works out for you! Best wishes!

if you do realy like a girl, a three date rule is very stupid.

any number of dates rule is stupid...

every one is different, if you want to have a real relationship with a woman, don't have sex for the first 3 months... then see what happens... and even then, make sure it's what she wants, don't even try to presure her at all...

if you love some one, their happiness should come befor your own... if she wants to wait, then you wait.

Only you can answer that. But when you find someone that you have a great connection with, he or she is worth the wait.

My bf waited over 3 months for me (not 3 dates, 3 months) and said it was well worth it. And we're still together. By the way, I'm your age!

well first of all i think its great that you have decieded to change a little and wait to have sex with someone who is really worth it! im sure it'll be worth it! when i met my husband and we started dating, i think we dated without even a kiss for like a month. and even after that we didnt really do anything sexual for another month after that. so i would say if she wants to take things slow, than keep your patience, get to know her, take care of yourself for awhile. in my opinion i would try really hard to wait a couple of months to have sex. its not unheard of. by that time, you will have a bond built up and really care about each other. if you really want to have a commited relationship with her, thats got a great basis and rooted in friendship, this is a great start! i dont really know how my husband did it, but he was such a perfect gentleman while we were dating, never tried a thing, and waited for me to let him know i was ready for more. t made me really appreciate him more!
