To wash yourself in the blood of Jesus Christ you must confess that you are a sinner and believe that Christ died for on Calvary to take away your sin and eternal punishment. Then you must except that Christ has saved you from your sin and that you are a new creature in Christ. And a good suggestion but not a requirement is to thank him for saving you and forgiving you of your sin. If you have any other questions refer to the book of Romans in the Bible. Any questions after that refer to your local church.

You have two questions: 1) why use metaphors? and 2) Why use gross images?
1) Pastors often use stories/parables/allegories to help the audience remember the point that is being made. Keep in mind that these gospels were not written by someone taking notes, but years later (Mark 60 AD / Luke and Matthew in 70-75 AD).
2) The images, reflect the times of that day. In those days were very life was very basic. Meat did not come packaged in cellophane. In Africa today, meat sold in open markets sits out in the sun, with flies pushed away by the vendor's fan. Salt was dug out of the earth, soil still clinging to it. Water was scarce in some areas.

There isn't any actual blood, as I suspect you know and are being sarcastic. You accept that you are a sinner and can't possibly save your self, you accept that christ died for you and that even if you were the only person on the planet, he still would have done what he did. You pray and aknowledge these things and accept Him as you personal savoir. And then you are saved. You read your bible and try to be obedient to God in all things.

Being "washed in the blood of Jesus" is something that Jesus has already done for htose who will believe him. It's not something that you can do for yourself.
Revelation 1:5
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

No other blood will do. Your imagination cannot offer you salvation.
You don't do the washing, either. You submit to it.
How? Ask God in humility and earnestness for the forgiveness of your sins through his Son Jesus.
How do you do this if you don't believe? You can't.
How can you believe if you want to believe? Pray to God for the humility to be able to know him.
How can you pray to one in whom you do not believe and ask for the gift of faith? That is the real question here. I hope that you find a way to answer it. I have, having done it myself. There are many ways to open this door, and I don't know which way will work for you. My suggestion is that you continue to look at the fruits of your thoughts, words, and actions, inspecting them for errors borne of strange blindnesses.
And how, precisely, do you see you are blind when you are blind and cannot see thus? It is a mystery. See John 6:44 for a clue.
You have to want God in order to find him. If you do not want him, you will not find him.
If you do not want him, stop searching.
And yet you continue to search, and search, and search--asking and asking and asking.
This may be a clue to coming to perceive your blindness: Why do you ask when you do not want to know?

You wash yourself in the blood of Jesus by believing in his word, confessing of your sins with your mouth and believing in your heart that Jesus is your LORD and SAVIOR!
And I speak to any hindering spirit in the name of Jesus that might be attaching itself to you I claim authority over you and I cast you out in the name of Jesus!
