are you asking about straitening with a flat iron? Thermal just means heat...there are permantent thermal straitenings as well...yes I have used a flat iron hundreds of times...it works well...Permanent thermal straitening is very expensive (better known as Japanese Straitener) works very well also...it will run you anywhere from $400 to $1700 depending on where you get it done

No, too risky. I'd rather just go to a salon and get it done... ,which I never did so I can't really help you out.
