What happens to children if parents convert to Islam? Do they automatically become Muslims? If not how are holidays like Christmas reconciled?

If the parents convert before the children are born, yes, the children become automatically Muslims...If not, the children have the right to choose if they are aware of religions...

Christmas can be celebrated with no trouble if a house has Muslims and Christians...After all, Islam believes in Jesus

Many parents have this problem no matter if they change religions or live ni a religiously diverse area. You instill your values as any parent would. Teach them about Islam and when they are old enough, let them know that you support whatever choice they make. As for the holidays, do a present exchange if you wish, but make it known that this is not part of an observation of the holidays, but a new family tradition. In Islam you have the Eid also, so if you wish to not do this, make sure they understand that you no longer believe that xmas is right and that Eid will be the new hioliay that you will celebrate. The end of Ramadan is a big time for practicing Muslims, so it is up to you to instill that in them.

The children don’t automatically become Muslims unless they declare their faith as Muslim's.

First of all the parents once they convert their parents will be granted Heaven.

Secondly just like myself I was born a Muslim however a Muslims faith should be declared officially at the age of 8 as it is then when we are able to grasp the context of life. At the age of 8 Muslim should try practicing their faith e.g. try to pray and keep fast however it is not obligatory? At the age of around 12 Muslims should practice their faith as they will be physically able to unless they have a valid reason otherwise. Three of the five fundamental pillars of Islam should be done (Shahadah-declaration of faith, Salah-the 5 daily prayers and Siyam-Fasting in the month of Ramadhan)

Third of all the parents should talk to the children if the children are at the age of 8+ (however if they are younger you should convert them as they could choose for themselves later in life if it is the right path or not) and explain to them why they are converting to Islam, And they to should take the Shahadah and become Muslims. However if the children don’t want to become Muslim then they should decide which faith they want to follow. If it is Christianity then they should be allowed to celebrate Christmas with the help of their parents but the parents aren’t actually celebrating but contributing if you get what I mean.

Fourthly if the parents do have another child he/she will be Muslim.

Conclusion

Christians are Christians because their parents are Christians; Muslims are Muslim because their parents are Muslim. We need to think about our faith if we do have a faith and decide what’s right. I mean we should read and try to understand other faiths not all of them but maybe a handful. We need to decide upon the aim of life and how to achieve something from life. In the modern today Muslims are weak the 5 fundamental pillars are not being completed but they would be completed if each and every Muslim actually thought for his/her self. I personally do perform the 5 daily prayers and the fast in the month of Ramadhan. I am thinking for my self and other should to.

What a parent should do is talk to their children abouth the decision they have made, and tell them why they made it. They should also tell them stories of the Quran and the prophet, and show them the way they pray, and tell them how it feels while praying to God. I would assume that the children would want to be muslims when they see that their parents are happier this way.But in Islam if one parent coverts to Islam I dont think that their children are forced to convert into Islam. They can make that Choice on their own, maybe one they grow up.I would think that it's very hard for a child to accept their parent converting into Islam in a foreighn country. Where their are'nt many muslims though. I hope this helps.

all children are naturally Muslims until they are old enough to make a decision. Islam means submission to God and because children don't have normal rationality they are living in accordance with God's will. As a parent I would instill these values in my religion and kindly advise them. You can not force them to be Muslims but it really is there loss if they aren't. Be kind and gentle for God loves gentleness. Peace. Gl.

Depends on the age of the child. If the child is older and already considers him or herself a religion then no. It is then up to the parents to teach them Islam and pray they convert.

Everybody is born muslim , its when a baby grows up and is taught another religion and changes the belief from one God to two Gods , or taught that Jesus is the son of God , or that Jesus is God , so if the parents become muslim and then have children , of course the children are still muslim , but if the kids are all grown up and then the parents decide to go back to being muslim , and the kids still want to celebrate christmas then whatever...christmas has nothing to do with Jesus....its not the day Jesus was born , in the Bible it says he was born sometime in Spring NOT WINTER.....so christmas is just some holiday that retail chains....money hungry people made up so they can make a whole lotta money .....come christmas time everybodys in debt....taking loans from banks to buy Billy that firetruck ...and Jessica was good this year so lets buy her barbies dreamhouse , also people max out there credit cards on that day...so who made it up?? Who owns the credit card companies? Who owns the banks , charging all that interest? Who gets paid in christmas time??? Of course you already know the answer...Some Jew...so if you wanna celebrate Jesus's birthday go read your bible...wait till spring time...and celebrate...no presents , no credit card needed...and no debt on yours and your families shoulders....bye bye.

They dont automatically become Muslims, if they're old enough to understand the difference.
But if they're small and the parents raise them based on the Islamic lifestyle, I suppose so.
