Say suddenly your spouse decides to change religions. Would you tell them you could no longer be with them because they don't believe in the same imaginary person as you? Sorry for the atheistic point of view, but that's really what it seems like. I love you, but my imaginary friend comes first.

My husband is very hostile to Christians and I am not. He will go on rants and I don't agree but I still love him of course. He is OK with my Buddhism but I wonder how he would feel about it if I were Christian? Probably OK. Because the two people in the marriage must respect one another and each other's feelings. If they let something like this get in the way of their marriage it is probably an excuse to end the marriage because they just want to end it.

Well, if Adam had put his God before his wife, we would not be in this mess. Sad to say, Adam loved Eve more than he loved his heavenly father. All he had to do was tell her: "Baby, I can't do that. Father said no."

If one is worshiping God based on accurate knowledge (the operative word being accurate), then it would behoove one - indeed, it would benefit one- to put God first. Adam tried it the other way. Didn't do him a bit of good. Cost him his home, his easy job, his youth, his health, and ultimately, his life. Cost his wife the same thing. So much for misplaced loyalty.

God hates divorce and the only Scriptural grounds for divorce is fornication and adultry.
If my husband were to ask me to do anything that conflicted with God's laws, then I would have to obey God rather than him.

Yes God comes before my husband and I expect him to put God first as well. But no where in the Bible are we told to leave a non believing spouse.Indeed we are told to remain with this spouse and that perhaps by love and devotion win them to God.

In my case I think the roles are reversed because she always shouts his name when we are screwing.
