forcing them to believe? If you don't want to you have every right not to.

Choosing who you believe in or don't believe in is indeed your choice. Unfortunately, as a Christian, and I am by no means perfect(ran away a few non-believers, I'm sure), I see many of these so-called Christians hounding non-believers terribly. That is no way to convert someone. Please also understand the concept of Baby-Christians. These are Christians that have just recently accepted Christ as their Savior. They get a little crazy in the beginning before they understand just HOW to witness. We Christians have a problem, and he's called satan. If by our actions we "run off" a nonbeliever, then satan has won that battle. Satan always attacks us first, tempts us worse, tries to influence us to be annoying, to be mean, to be just down right horrible sometimes. For those of you reading this answer, please don't completely turn your ears off to us. There are good Christians out there who really do care.

I also have the right to not be solicited at my door by a Bible thumper. I don't think I am being forced to accept Jesus, someone is just getting their jollies telling me I am going to hell. I don't need to have a "tent revivalist or a TV evangelist" convert me before the crowds so that they will receive more gifts and donations for all the souls they have saved. Bless you if you are not trying to force Jesus on me without asking first if I believe or not. And what makes you think that you can call a person a non-believer if they don't accept Jesus? Maybe, in their eyes, they are far more of a believer than you...just not taking your point of view.

Bad experiences are probably the answer to your question. I am a Christian and I don't want people ringing my door bell, hopping up and down, waving a Bible in my face screaming that I am going to hell. I know what I believe. I am a United Methodist and some other protestant religions will condemn us because we are too open-minded. You are right no one can force Jesus or Atheism on another person but both sides can annoy a person to death.

Honestly, I think anyone who complains about religion being forced on them for things like, "you'll burn in hell" or "I'll pray for you" is just whiney. I get that all the time now from some Muslims. "If you don't change and welcome Mohommad into your life, you'll burn in hell" and "I will pray that you accept Allah". I don't care. I just ignore it or thank them and go on my way. It's the same thing, but I'm not sitting there, complaining that I was sent an email or had someone try to convert me in the street. Everyone has a right to their religion, Atheists, CHristians, Muslims and Pastafarians. Just because someone from another religion says, "I'll pray for you" isn't pushing their religion down your throat. Stop whining. I live with it too. I don't care.

Nobody can make someone believe in God. That is not up to us- It is God who draws people to him, and it is christians- believers in Christ who share the good news with them- praying that God will soften their hearts as they listen....We are told to go out and preach the gospel- to "snatch them out of the fire" --Jude 1:23
snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.

But God does the saving- If someone does not want to hear God's word, we should not shove it down their throats- Just simply move on...wipe the dust from our feet- pray for them.

John 6:44
"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

They may not "force" it on me (I wouldn't let 'em anyway) but it sure is pushed on you. Why is it that when a non-Christian, writes a question, Christians say "I will pray for your soul". I don't need anyone to pray for my soul. I would rather you not.

If you look below at the next answer...isn't it funny that 4JESUS thinks that the Religion & Spirituality category is only for Christians!!! yeah right

So evangelicalism is peaceful conversion? There are no Christians with an agenda to sell to non believers? Pull the other one.

ok. by condeming us to hell, saying "you are going to hell for not believing" you are saying that your religion is the truth and forcing YOUR religions punishment on everyone else. you come up telling us we are bad according to YOUR religion, is forcing YOUR laws/beliefs on us.
