Drink lots of liquids, take Vitamin C, and don't go out. If you are already having symptoms, you are contageous and can pass on the cold to anyone else you have contact with. Plus the extra stress on your system will make the cold worse.

Keep drinking lots of water. Also take some vitamin C. I use the EmergenC brand...it comes in little packets that you mix with water and it makes a fizzy drink. It is pretty tasty, and it works pretty well if you take them frequently. I also mix cayenne pepper in orange juice (other juice would work too), and drink that down as many times throughout the day as I can. It burns a little on the throat, but feels kind of good if you have a sore throat. The cayenne does a great job of knocking out the cold. Try to rest as much as possible too. Echinacea and zinc are also good options. Most stores sell zinc lozenges. Hope you feel better!

I don't know if it really works or not, but I use Airborne tablets. They come in a little container that you find in the cold remedy section of your pharmacy and you put them into water to disolve. When I feel the cold coming on I take three a day for a day or two and then I just take one in the morning until I'm absolutely sure its gone. I have found that you have to do it right away or you still get the yukies. Airborne was made by a teacher, is loaded with a lot of vitamins and has been on the market for about two years.

Coldeeze is an over the counter product in the drug store that was devloped by combining the key vitamins and minerals that are linked to promoting good health. It's a losenge that is found where the cough drops are and using it at the first sign of symptoms is supposed to help prevent or minimize the duration of a cold.
I have also found that when I feel under the weather extra sleep is a big help.
