First of all, are you a graduate student going for you PhD? If so, then you should go to your thesis advisor for help on this. If you are an undergrad planning to go into this line of research, then you should go to a professor who does molecular biology and ask him or her this question. He or she might be able to direct you towards someone who does research in that particular field and who might be able to answer your questions (the main one which should be "what projects could I propose that others with more experience and funding aren't already doing")

Hello, that's certainly not the right place to ask such question - it would take too much time to go into details and, what's more, if anyone agreed to help you with that you would not be able to claim that it is your original project anymore. But, a small suggestion you may try these websites: www.cytomics.info or www.mmke.com, or try webpage of Oxford Uni, UK or Max Planck Institute, Germany. If you would like to get more detailed info, you may send me an email. Good luck :-)
