Probably because they actually haven't thought through counter arguments and aren't actually looking to dialogue--just prove their point.
What sort of question do you mean?

Could you give an example? I normally do not answer a question unless it deals with an issue that I have given a lot of thought to in the past. In order words, I normally do not answer a question unless I am reasonably sure that I know the answer to it.
If I am uncertain about something, or the Bible is unclear about a certain point, then I just say that I don't know.
I get the impression that you are just trying to find fault with other people's beliefs, so there is no answer that will satisfy you anyway.

Not all Christians are grounded in the faith like they should be. Ask your question, I will not beat around the bush, I will tell you the truth straight from the Word of God. But please don't be like some people and get your back up. If you can't take the answer, don't ask the question.

You Gotta Know the Truth
Live for the Truth
Study the Truth
Have the Truth Living in You
Stand on the Truth
So on so on,
IN ORDER TO TELL THE TRUTH
(The TRUTH is Jesus) all of the Time.
Few in the Family are able to do this All of the Time, if Any.

how about an example? Could it be that you ask a question and just don't like the answers you get from Chrisitians so you say they "beat around the bush?"

Here is a straight forward answer for you. The Lord Jesus Christ died for you sins reject that and you will go to hell. 1 Corinthians 15: 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15: 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Revelation 20: 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Revelation 20: 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Revelation 20: 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

well, I do not know who did you ask...but generalising one or two persons as "all Christians" is not so vise. Besides there are so many different branches of Christianity, that I gues you might get all different answers as well.
So how about asking this question in yahoo answers and then wait to see what happens? I am sure you will get your answer answered.

It has been my experience that a large number of christians don't actually know their religion, they have faith and faith is a wonderful thing, but if it is not tempered with knowledge it is very dagoes to everyone involved. Then, instead of admitting that they haven't studied or don't know for what ever reason, they play misdirection games to try and confuse. Wow I do not miss that.

There are infinite angles at which to solve a problem, or address an issue.
Look at them as people, not as Christians, and you may look at them in a new light.
I look at you as a person, even if your avatar implies no belief in God, or a higher being.
