lemon juice is ok because the acid turns into alkaline after digestion. Not a big fan of lemon juice/oil taste so far.

SALAD WITH SESAME ORANGE DRESSING

(serves 4)

4 C Mixed Salad Greens
1 Large Orange, cut into pieces
4 Sliced Green Onions, including some or the greens
1/4 C Grated Jicama

Dressing
1/2 C freshly squeezed orange juice
1 Tablespoon honey (honey is good for you and not digested like table sugar)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon dark sesame oil
2 Tablespoons grated fresh ginger (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds (regular or black)

For the dressing: in a small bowl, whisk together all ingredients making sure the honey is well blended. This will keep in the refrigerator for 3 or 4 days and makes about 1/2 C.

You can make this a main dish salad by adding some shrimp or chicken breast or salmon to the greens.

Take any basic salad dressing recipe and replace the vinegar with another acid - try orange juice or lemon juice. The orange juice version gives the dressing a unique taste while the lemon juice will give it a little tartness which could be overcome by adding honey instead of sugar.

Try this one!

⅓ cup fresh lemon juice (1 large or 1-½ small lemons)
¾ cup olive oil (or sometimes I mix canola and olive)
1-2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 large cloves garlic, crushed
fresh ground black pepper to taste

Shake all together in a bottle and enjoy!!

Have a great weekend!!!

Hrm. OK, I don't know if this will fit because of the acidity of the lemon. It's lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper.

How about lemon juice (water down a bit) / herbs of your choice / salt & pepper / red chili seeds / sunflower seeds
