Can someone please tell me what this really means? Does it mean water is bad and wine is good? I just can't wrap my mind around it. If a man compares himself with another man so a girl would choose between the two, would he consider himself as the "water" or the "wine"?

There is nothing as good as a tall, cool glass of water.

I think the question means if you are male or female would you pick someone or something that is simple (water) over something a bit more elaborate (wine). And if the man would consider himself wine then if the woman chooses the water then she is choosing the lower of the two (meaning he considers himself better than the other) Got it???

I have to agree that is not fair. But Dr. Bob also raises some very good points. But why *aren't* there fresh water wells being dug in Gaza? That's not such an expensive solution, and if the Gaza authorities would actually put the Palestinian people first for a change, instead of their agenda to get rid of Israel, then you'd think they'd make digging some wells a priority.

humm! I am not sure but i think it can mean different things. The only thing i can come up with is ... lets use guys as an example and let me ask you this question. Can you choose a guy who treat you wrong just because he is good looking... or a guy who looks ok and treat you like a queen? Just think of it as the wine being the good looking guy with the bad attitude and the water being the ok looking guy with the great attitude.

this is an historical saying when water was undrinkable unless boiled for the making of wine or beer, by choosing wine over water you would be stating your intention to survive. LF

Sailors brought along water, but in the wooden barrels it always turned slimy. So they starting packing wine instead, and the rest is history.

Water calms your thirst. If you drink alcohol, you dehydrate, and have to drink water to avoid a hangover.

I'll stick with water
