I have 3 cats and recently , on the advice of family, i switched them on to wood pellets (A huge bag was 5 bucksand the results sounded so promising) Sooo...They won't cover their poo and IT STINKS!! Also, recently they have been going all over the floor instead. They seem a little freaked out by it even though I really slowly weened them off regular litter. I jusyt want something that won't make a huge mess they'll track around the house and that isn't stanky and super pricey! Help!!

There is no good solution. I have used the pellets, but had some problems. I like clumping, but find it all over the house. Tried all kinds of mats and rugs to cut down on it, but I still find it all over.
They hate the crystals. Tried wheat based, pine based, recycled newspaper....NOTHING is the total solution.

I don't think there is any great solution for litter boxes. They are just inherently nasty. I've used all kinds of litter and they all have their upsides and drawbacks. We all just love our kitties so much we end up dealing with it though, right? I had pretty good success with pellets but my cat was agreeable and the smell for me was not an issue because of where the litter box was. I just couldn't stand having clay litter everywhere anymore!! I'd very much like to explore toilet training with my next kitten though. How great would that be?

They won't use the pellets because they don't like them, and most likely never will. Back to regular litter for you, and remember that cheaper doesn't always equal better.

no ! i have not found them to be better at all. i am thinking of investing in a litter kwitter, its pricey to buy but it trains cats to go on the toilet so you can just flush their doo dahs away!

no it isn't better because it doesn't stop the odor. also the cats aren't used to it so they aren't going to try and touch it to mcuh wihch means they won't cover it up as much.
