Obviously, only a complete, slobbering moron would choose something as insgnificant as a dishwashing liquid without comparing it to the other brands available on the shelf. So, it's logical to assume anyone with an I.Q. exceeding that of a snowball would carefully reasearch all the posibilities before choosing a faith to which they would entrust their soul and eternity. What was it you found in your extensive theological study that caused you to choose your religion from all the possible options?

What was it, specifically, in other religions that turned you off. Again, specific. Please cite the religion and the text.

I started out atheist, but a lot of things that science couldnt explain were occuring in my life, so I went to spiritual, and wiccan, I was introduced to Christianity, and believed in Jesus. After a while, I went back to atheism, because I was bitter. But more occurances happened, and I started studying Christianity, Judism, Islam, Buddism, Hinduism, & Paganism. It led me back to believing in Jesus. I don't agree with Catholics, or any religion with more than 1 God, I don't think they are wrong, I just think there is 1 God of all gods, and he's who I praise. Thanks

I tried being a Christian and it didn't feel right. I felt like I was constantly lying to myself. One of the biggest problems I had was embracing the thought of a hell. I never did believe in hell, and even when the bible said there was a hell, I still couldn't buy it.

So I denounced Christianity and was just a plain Agnostic for a while. I always believed in a higher power; I felt the existance of such a thing, and I always believed I had a soul. I read up on different spiritual paths but was in no rush to choose one. Then I found Paganism, and every part of it felt great to me. That's why I am now a happy Pagan. :) As far as other people go, as long as they have a path they are comfortable and happy with, I don't see a problem with that, as long as they aren't hurting or bothering anyone. Even Atheism I consider to be a valid path.

Blessed be.

I sought things that were common across many religioins intending to find basic truths. Instead what I found was that there was nothing that could be proven and that the only commonality was a belief that each religion knew their religion was the only true religion. Obviously each was based on an illusion.

It was therefore quite easy to find Atheism (Deterministic Atheism) as something based on truths that are proveable.

Most people just attend the church that their parents went to. It was good enough for them they say. Most never even read/study their Bibles. I go to mine because it is the only church that I have found that believes 1. That Jesus=God 2. That nowhere in the Bible does it give us a command to worship on any other day than the seventh day of the week-- Saturday. 3. That God/Jesus created the things in this world in seven literal days. evening and morning being day one etc. 4. That I can come into the presence of God through Jesus Christ alone. (and don't have to bother with a priest or Mary or anyone else Jesus paved the way and Jesus has time to answer me directly)

There is a beauty in the world that just cannot be explained by random chance. If chance had created the world why bother with flowers in a hundred thousand different colours, why give people free will and the chance to express themselves in words, song, poetry and art. God is everywhere, I don't know which God, but I sense a higher power. I'm not sure that i have yet found the organised religion which is right, but I know that there is something more. True believers never stop learning, questioning and wondering about God.

Clearly you don't imagine that almost ANYONE does research, studies and eventually CHOOSES a religion. 999 times out of a thousand, the religion they are is based on what they were taught and experienced as a child. Parents and the society are what dictates a persons religious conviction almost all of the time.

Obviously, if instead they researched, considered, and did extensive study on the issues and had the intelligence to make a considered opinion and STILL felt they needed a religion, most of the planet would be Buddhist.

See, you will have to know the whole concept to understand my answer. I am a Hindu and our religion says that a Hindu is a Hindu by birth. It is also called Sanatan Dharm which means the eternal religion. This is the reason we don't convert others in Hinduism. If you have heard about some conversion then I bet they are frauds who are indulge in some selfish job. You might have heard about eastern philosophy, it is nothing but the brief of Hindu religion.

I also agree with hijab, not only is this (Islam) a religion, but a way of life. Islam's holy book the Qur'an guides you through any obsticle in this life. Islam requires you to do many things, that other people may not agree with. But, it all makes sense. Islam is the only fastest-growing religion and also the only religion that has never been proven false, in other words, no man has ever found any mistakes in it. Inshallah, it will always continue this way.

Good question! And I agree with "hijab". Every human being is born a Muslim, yes that is true. They become wat the society around them is like. I, like everyone else was born a Muslim and i am very grateful that i was born in a Muslim society. I continue to love this religion compared to others as this is a very peaceful religion (you cannnot blame the evil that goes on around the world onto our religion as it has nothing to do with Islam) . All the killings and mass murders are not what Islam orders, its the enemies of Islam that want to destroy our religion. Islam has and always will remain a peaceful religion. Its not just a religion, its a complete way of life. No wonder its growing faster and faster...

There is and always will, remain only One God i.e Allah. He has the power above all and He is the one who created you and me. Should we not then praise Him??
