Presuming there are souls, which I question. No. No-one is born without a soul. Why would they be? In theory you get your souls from either one way - the parents' souls somehow infusing their babies like they do with their actual biology, or another - this AND rebirth. There is no lack of souls.
Societies have been deplorable long before ours began, or did you never study ancient rome? The azteks? Egyptians? And worse. Everyone has some nasty things. Skeletons in the closet. Roamns had their Gladiators, tried to conquor the world, and dumped babies on rubbish tips. I think this society is an improvement.

Your funny...
If anything, atheists and agnostics consider some mindless christians examples of what it is to live without a soul - no personal moral compass or sense of right and wrong, only rules to follow in an ancient book.
Of course, this definition of "soul" is predicated on an assumption that soul is defined as the individual non-physical energy that is thought and emotion - both of which are governed by physical human matter, chemistry, biology, etc. The assumption also does not assume the soul existed before or after physical life.

Actually every living entity has a soul. The presence of the soul is determined by life. Plants, bug, aquatics, animals, and all people have souls, the exterior is just the covering. The soul resides in the heart and permeates the whole body of the plant, animal, but etc. Actually the world is not overpopulated. There is plenty of food for everyone. It is just a matter of management of that food. If everyone was vegetarian everyone would have enough to eat. In the Gita it is explained that as long as there is animal slaughter there will be war and famine (starvation) so we can help the world situation by becoming vegetarian. Go to www.stephen-knapp.com to get lots of information on all of this.

No, you will Always have a Soul (Second Mind, Invisible Spiritual Super-Computer).
You couldn't Operate your Body with-out One (Soul).
Soul connects you (a Spirit) to your Body.
Your Human because your a Human Spirit, with a Soul, Living in a Physical Body.
You will Still be a Human Being, when you come out of your Body for Good (what we call Death) and Leave your Body on the Earth while you(and Your Soul) Either go Up (hopefully, Jesus) or Down (sadfully, satan).
Hope this Helps.

But why do you say we 'have' souls when the bible shows that we ARE souls. The book of Genesis is just one example. In the creation account, God made Adam into a "living soul" only when he had started him breathing. Adam wasn't given a soul.
This is also true with our everyday speech, we will often say... "He's a merry old soul," not that he has a merry soul.
If your belief in an immortal soul is based on the bible, I strongly urge you to study the bible, right down to the original Hebrew and Greek words it was written in and the grammar used to write. This way, you can understand the meaning the writer wanted us to use and understand.

Why would you have upset atheists? Oh, you are implying that atheists have no souls and we are to blame for the condition of the planet? Hey, it's you guys's 'good deeds' and charity that is keeping all those starving people alive to have yet more starving kids. It's catholic dogma and doctrine that disallow condoms and such.
Atheists wouldn't be upset for saying that we have no souls but some might be upset about you implying that that has more to do with over-population than christians themselves.

don't feel sorry, on the contrary i feel sorry for you, i do honestly. how did you come to this conclusion. where in your bible does it say that god creates people without souls? do you believe only people without souls are responsible for society today?let's look closely at this. let's keep this to the christian west and figure out which country has the most people per head with no souls. it is obviously the country with the highest rate of abortions, and of course the highest murder rate, also drug crime and sexual assaults. it also must have the highest percentage of child poverty, the lowest literacy rates and the highest infant mortality. oh my god! it's the USA. how can that be it has the highest amount of Christians and church goers in the west. no, this doesn't mean does it......Christians have no souls.

What makes us human is the level of consciousness we have obtained and our genetic makeup. Society is having problems because of its increasing complexity with technology making the world smaller (creates benefits and problems), competition for finite resources, larger populations, greater population mobility (hence people of extremely diverse viewpoints having to share the same geography), and economic competition. I think society would also benefit from a better level of overall education for the population and bit more economic justice. Souls have nothing to do with it.
