Erase what you previously typed. For example you want to type the word weather, but instead of typing the letter "r", you typed a "t", and you realized it. The backspace key wil erase the"t".

Since it is very hard to break anything why not just use it to find out! I am not being facious or rude but rather I am trying to be helpful. Some are far too easily intimidated by their computers,
