Make a deal with yourself, every time you loose a certain amount of weight put a certain amount of money into a jar, then once you hit your target you can splurge the cash on whatever you like, similarly fine yourself if you put weight back on or don't loose any for a couple of weeks.
Someone I know does this: Wear the worst outfit you can find to the gym, everytime you see yourself in the mirrors you'll see yourself looking so awful you'll be determined to burn those calories. Not so sure it'd work for me, but may be worth a try.

I like to keep in good shape so that I can take on greater challenges. Like backpacking, mountain biking, and fighting forest fires. I can out-compete many people simply because I keep myself in shape and have been in good physical condition for years now. And when I do run across the girl I will marry, I wanna look good.

In my experience it's when my partner leaves and I believe he is interested in someone else (isn't that usually why they leave!?). He's left me shortly after the birth of both our children, and thanks to him (not literally!), I lost the excess weight that didn't want to shift whilst he was at home.
I must be fair to add though, that it's better if they stay gone...because everytime he's come back, we've been loved up for ages and scoffed lots of Hagaan Daaz in bed...which doesn't really help.

Half a stone? You mean 7 flippin' pounds? **rolls eyes**
Find your own motivation. If you can't, then the seven pounds probably isn't worth fretting about.

Being able to buy clothes in my favorite shops + managing to climb to the top of snowdon with ease. Works for me.
