I lost one left molar and i want to have an implanted tooth. Does the procedure hurt? And how many days it will heal? Do you have an idea how much is it?

I work for an oral surgeon that puts in implants on a regular basis. The implant hardware itself costs $1,350. That does not include the anesthesia, but some insurances will cover some portion of both costs. In terms of the pain, it does not hurt at all while it is actually taking place, nor will it for a few hours afterwards. Your recovery time is normally about a week, in which you level of discomfort would be similar to simply having a wisdom tooth extract, maybe not even that severe. The healing process can take some time, depending on how you look at it. You should be fully functional and healed in 3 to 14 days, depending on your metabolism, but the entire implant process from start to finish takes about 4 months.

The quote that pdigoe gave is only a portion of the cost. After getting the implant you will have to find a dentist to make the crown. Which will probably be that again. My implants were $5000 each.

No it doesn't hurt getting them. Just a bit sore after. You cannot chew on it for 5 or 6 months or it will interrupt the healing process. You can chew soft things like pasta or baked fish but nothing hard unless you make sure you chew on the opposite side of where the implant is.

About $1,000 a tooth for an implant ! How much it hurts and how long it takes to heal will vary from person to person.

i am not sure how much it costs because my insurance and parents paid for it. but if i remember correctly, it hurt like crazy for about three days then the pain decreased severly. Pain killers will be your best friend.
