Death is only a real sleep from which one does not ever like to wake up. When one comes to this world , he comes with nothing in his hands and mind . He comes with a blank slate like the blank hard disc of a computer from the manufacturing unit .The opeating sysem , the basic information &instruction needed for survival is installed by the mother by her mind itself when the child is in her womb getting nourished by her blood and breathig the air she breaths and mixes with her blood. After birth , the child knows nothing except the basic operatin system. The motehr , the father , the sibilings , the friends and relatives install in the mind of the child what ever they know .Some childen are fortunate to have better programmers around them who install useful application softwares and some children ar not so blessed . They get viruses installed by bad programmeres .When we go , we are not entiteld to take anything with us as we brought nothing with us when we came . We can go only with a blank slate .Only when we lose your consciousness totally and fully , we are dead ,Even if we remember anything very slightly , we are not qualified to go . We had no name when were born . We had no religion when we were born .so also we must go without anything in mind or hands. We will not go with any trace of memory. Where is the question of our praying while going .?The spirit has no physical organs needed for the installation of any memory. How can the spirits do anything and remember anythng when they hae none of the organs that ae necessary for these activities ,.If spirits alone are capable of doing anything and remembering anythinfg . God would not have been foolish enouth to have created our physical body unnecessarily while we were born. It is not known whether ALLAH is awaiting the payment of any prayer form any dying or dead person.,But God does not die for the prayer of anybody . Even man in his worst penurious circumstance ,dose not like to get back anything form the begger to whom he has been giving alms while he was well off..God won't be longing for the prayer of any of his creation,.

Once a person is dead s/he is in state (like a sleep) and asking that dead person is usless and its prohibited. Islam clearly says that there is no one in between you and Allah so just pray to him and he will answer your prayers (inshallah)

Allah is the devil disguised as God. Allah is not knowable. Jehovah God, the Great I AM is knowable in the person of Jesus Christ and we can have a relationship with Him. Blessings.

No, that is Shirk!
I know it is common in India and Pakistan, but it is a very serious sin.
