A friend of mine says that is an old wives tale and its not true.

no its not true. the only way to get sick is to contract a virus or bacteria or something. you wont get a cold from being too hot or cold

People "pass through" hot and cold all the time - in the winter, they go outside, then come into a warm car or building - so if that were true, everyone would be sick in the winter!

Viruses cause colds. Simple as that.

No, it's not true. Germs make you sick....not the temperature.
