Plenty of research dating before christianity to what happened. I fear paganism because of what christians tell me, but i'm most comfortable being pagan, it's natural to me. Everyone has different beliefs, so try to keep opinion out and stick with fact.

Of course paganism is natural to you. This is because it appeals to your flesh, giving you a sense of spirituality, without having to submit to the demands of Christ.

Christianity requires abandonment of your lusts, and obedience to Him and His ways. When you receive Jesus as your Lord, you make Him King in your life. You are dethroned. That is an uncomfortable proposition to the natural self.

But, the rewards outweigh the risks. However, dying to self by joining Jesus requires an all or nothing commitment. Only you can decide what is best for yourself, but the consequences of your choice are eternal.

The more I research the topic, the more I realze they are alike. Christianty evolved from paganism (Roman Gods, Winter Solstice, Constantine etc.....) Constantine was a leader of the Roman Catholic movement....he simply realized that there were more Christians than pagans and basically, being a good business gent, decided to go with the winning team. He proclaimed that the one religion of Rome was Roman Catholic. Should also be added that Constantine never truly accepted the new religion....he was in it more for control and power, like all bigtime world leaders since. Also, what is pagan to Christians is anything that is not their god.....and many religions view Christianity as pagan......it all depends on your upbringing, and sad to say, your intellect.

Are you trying to choose between religions or deities? Which deity speaks to your heart? To me, a deity is more important that the religion used to worship them.

But I wouldn't practice a religion that I was afraid of, and neither would I practice a religion that instills fear. I hope that you look into the reasons for your fear before deciding so that fear isn't a motivator. There are many positive things that will motivate you to follow the path that is right for you; fear does not need to be one of them.

Only you can answer your question. Best wishes for the journey ahead---whatever that may be.

You have to figure out which is the truth? Christianity or Paganism? After all, no one wants to believe a lie.

my dear what would you say if i told you they were one and the same and that the christian faith is based on theft and lies i know you don't want opinion, so i will support my statements with proof. lets start with the so called christian bible how many times has it been translated since it was scribed, and how many governments have decided they didn't like what it said and rewrote it to suit them. that is one that we really cant answer but in theory it has been done here is the proof of that. in the 1900`s the book of Thomas was found untouched hidden away. did you know that it tells the same story as some of the other books in the bible but is so vastly different that you would not think it to be a part of the christian bible. just for background Thomas was Christs real flesh and blood brother who would know his teachings better?here is that link

now as for my first statement about theft and lies, all the ceremony and many beliefs were stolen from those so called pagan religions. their is so much proof to this that i will not bother to right it out, but will send you directly to the link so you can see it for your self. this link also will shed some light on Christ and how modern faiths do not follow his true teachings but in order to follow this link to its end you must through out all those modern christian ideas that are in your head.

What is it about Paganism that makes you comfortable? What is it that the Christians are frightening you with?

The only way I can help is with a few more specifics.

God wants you to come to him out of love for him. Not out of fear of him.

Butter Scotch is wrong. Christianity did NOT evolve out of Paganism. Christianity absorbed a lot of Paganism though. Such as when Pope Clement (I think the third) "baptised" coffee. Christians of his day protested coffee as a trick of the Muslims. Pope Clement declared coffee cool. God bless him.

Constantine was not a leader of the roman catholic movement. He only "legalized" Christianity. Up until his day Christians were persecuted. Bishops like St. Nicholas of Myra, from whom we get the contracted version "Santa Claus" were leaders of the movement.

Truly though. Like Steph above, I was raise Catholic. Went Wiccan for about 10 years. It fell very short for me. I got lucky and God sent a saint to call me back to Catholicism.

Go with what you feel gives you peace and comfort.

Why does is have to be one of these two? Ever thought of checking into Judaism or Islam? Or Buddhism? To me, these are all good choices. The first two say that G-d is one---not a trinity. The last is a very enlightened philosophy.

I was like you. I went from Catholic to Wiccan and back to Catholic. I'm not sure what you are asking, since it looks like an opinion question, "What would I choose between paganism and christianity?"

As and answer, I choose Chrisitianity.

u r being hypocritical. saying u >fear< paganism, but comfy w/it?

fact is: paganism is a cult, christianity is a >relationship< w/ Christ...
regardless of what the spirit of satan says (usually through what/how people say and address themselves)

sounds like god is working on your heart. u can't sit on the fence, the >choice< is yours!

Okay, stick with facts.Pagans worship idols, and anything else that isn't Godly. When I say that, you might pray to a tree or rock.Or in the case of the Muslims they worship a big black box in Mecca. The black box,the tree or the stone will not,and can never save you from anything. It can never save your soul.It can never heal you.If it ever did,it is of the devil.Paganism is one of the devil's oldest tricks in the book.
Trust in Jesus Christ,he can offer you more than you could ever comprehend.
