My friend and I wanted to take a road trip in Jan or Feburary.

And we want to know about the weather then.. and I can't seem to find anything. Is it completely useless to go this time.. because of snow?

Also, how long should it take to take Route 66 from the beginning to end? (Santa Monica to Chicago)

The area around Flagstaff can have four feet of snow in January, and temps way below zero. It can also have no snow at all and be relatively warm. You could have snow for the whole trip,or maybe none at all.
Just watch the weather forecast for the time you are planning to travel. Better yet, don't go in January.

The more wintery the weather, the more a southern route becomes necessary. Why do you choose the dead of winter to travel? Even if you choose a southern route, you will have to eentually turn north and drive into winter weather.
