Try brushing your scalp before you wash your hair.

Head and Shoulders is good to use, but you cannot overuse it because it will do the reverse. If you have bad dandruff, you may need to use something like Nioxin and switch back and forth between shampoos. Also try rubbing olive oil on your scalp before shampooing.

Head and shoulders No! To take care of your dandruff use T- Gel or Tea Tree. You are loosing hair cause of the dandruff. You need to scrub your hair well when washing w/ T-Gel or Tea Tree. Fallow the directions. You may want to layer you hair for some volume. Now this shampoo will not give you volume get the layer cut and get the kiwi root lifter @ a hair salon. The T- Gel at Walmart. Or Tea Tree @ hair salon. Good Luck

I am suprised that Head & Shoulders seems to cause dandruff for you. I find it very effective in curing my dandruff when I get it, but the idea of using it to protect from hairloss is new to me.

It is good to use for an occasional deep cleansing. It will not protect against hair loss. You need to change you shampoo every so often to really cleanse your hair, if you use a lot of product in you hair, outside a lot, you need to swap 1 or 2 shampoos a week with a deep cleanser. Hair loss can not be stopped unfortunately.

Um. Head & Shoulders is FOR dandruff. It's odd that it is doing the opposite for you. Is it possible that it is drying out your head and that you should be using something else?

That said, it cannot protect from hairloss.

My husband used to use H&S all the time. He had a beautiful full head of hair and looked like Elvis Presley. After using it for 1 month he went bald. He sued H&S AND THEY PAYED FOR A FULL HAIR TRANSPLANT PROCEDURE. Now he looks like Harpo Marx. OHH Well at least he has developed a sense of humor and brings a horn around to honk wherever he goes

bUT IN HEAD AND SHOULDERS DEFENSE, as I told my husband at the time, it did stop the dandruff as advertised

It won't protect against hairloss, you are going bald. Dandruff is the first sign.
