Wow, it sounds like you've corrupted something in your registry or config files. If you have a boot disk, pop it into your floppy drive and try to boot up in safe mode. From there, try to do a system restore to go back to the last known good config.

If that doesn't work, you might have to wipe your HD and reinstall your OS. If I were you, I would seriously look into upgrading to Win XP (hold off from Vista, it's still really new and needs to be de-bugged more). In order to do this, boot up into DOS with your boot disk, and run FDISK. This will allow you to delete your active partition and create a new active partition. Then you just need your OS CD to install.

Once you get your computer running again, call Microsoft Tech support and tell them that your Office CD doesn't work & give them the product key; ask them if you can download it and authenticate with your own product key. Hope that works for you!!

Try getting into setup and see if there is a system restore option....look for a date just prior to your having tryed to install office 2000 and restore to that date...then re boot. Make sure that you go to search after your computer is restored and search for office 2000 files and delete them all. Then if you have a registry cleaner use it and it will remove all registry associations to office 2000. You should be alright after that !

Good Luck !

See if you can load windows in "last known good configuration". This website has the instructions. http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000626.htm
If that does not work try booting in safe mode. http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsafe.htm
and then doing a system restore. If you can do that on Windows 2000.
