the green mounld on the side of stale bread and cheese is said to be penecillin. if this is so is is safe to eat as a anti biotic?? or would it do you harm??

Its true that penicillin is derived from mould, but I wouldn't eat it as I'm sure that they must do something to it before it is turned into penicillin. Besides mouldy bread is gross its also stale and and tasteless. All cheese is mouldy anyway so you can eat mouldy cheese but personally anything that looks like it could get up and walk off on its own shouldn't be eaten!!!

I believe certainly wouldn't be taseful and may upset your digestion. It is frightenng that we live in a future world that add so many preservatives/additives that food does not keep very long!! what ever happened to those glorious tears when i was a child door step slices and real lumps of cheese

I wouldn't take the chance on trying it as it could cause you more harm throw it out.

It would prob give you gut ache. It's not the same penicillan as the medics give you.
