Calico cats are all females too. There are a few males but the are usually unhealthy and dont live long. If they grow to maturity they are sterile, cause the calico coat is really "extra" genes. If you ever find a male that can make babies......KEEP him. He is a Golden Goose!!!

Like calico fabric and quilts the pattern is a hodge-podge of colors and patterns. The cat of course has only white, black and orange in its coat. A true calico cat is mostly white with distinct splotches of black and orange. The most motled coat is a tortoiseshell. Tortoiseshell cats can be "dilute" in their coloring with grey and pale orange in their coats.
