I think it has the potential to.

I worked at a doctor's office while on breaks during college, so I got a flu shot. I felt pretty crappy for a few days after that.

First off, I would like to correct most of the people answering this for you. The FLU SHOT is a live virus. This does not mean after getting the vaccine you will get sick. It all depends on your immune system. If you already have caught a strain of the flu before you got the shot, you will be ill for a few days, no biggie. I have a poor immune system so, I never will be able to get the flu shot. My suggestion to you is, make sure you have enough vitamin c in your body to off some strains of the flu. Good luck and I wish you the best.

Not any more. I took the flu shot years ago and became so deathly sick I swore I would never take it again. However, the flu serum that is on the market today does not contain any live virus, and that was the key to getting sick. Also, if, just by chance you are allergic to eggs, it is advised not to get the flu shot. I have tested positive to being allergic to eggs, however, I did not have any reaction to the shot and get it without any after effects. The doctor that gave me the flu shot said, even if I tested positive regarding eggs, my chances of getting sick were minimal, he was right.

Technically, the flu shot contains "dead" flu virus. So, in theory, you should not get sick. Some people do contract a cold from the shot if their immune system is weakened at the time the shot is administered. My dad no longer gets a flu shot because he gets sick and ends up with pneumonia. Best of luck!

No. There is no way to get the flu from the flu shot. However some people get a mild reaction (low grade fever, muscle ache) which can last 12-24 hrs. Best thing to do is to take a couple of tylenol after you get the shot.

I have been getting the flu shot for 3 years and never got the flu from the shot. You can still get the flu if exposed but it will be much milder and a shorter duration of time.

the flu shot is a dead vaccine. its kinda liek yea you are getting the flu but in a smaller way. like you will probably get sick but not as bad as you would if you didnt get the shot. it makes your body produce antibodies to fight off the flu so if you do encounter it you wont be highly affected. if you have a strong immune system then you will be fine. good luck

No, it does NOT. You don't get the "common cold" either. If you get sick after the flu shot, then you were going to get sick anyway. You already had the germs in your system.
