There were several points actually. One was the fact that Saddam was taking Euro Dollars for his oil instead of American Dollars. Remember when George Senior invaded Iraq because Iraq invaded Kuwait. Sadam fought back by setting fire to his oil wells.
His way of flipping the bird to Bush Senior.
If you will recall, it was under Carter that our Embassy in Iran was taken over and our people held hostage, because we gave sanctuary to a tyrant who was formerly the Shah of Iran. It is really all about oil. We invaded Iraq on two occasions. They never invaded us and they were not involved in 9/11.

Well we are at the begining of another nucelar arms race and this time there can be no cold war since mulsims want to die and kill us in the process ssoooooooooooooooooo....

we needed a foothold in the middle east to start a reorganization that will continue for the next 50 years to help mitigate the threat possed by people like the president of Iran....

Chapter 1 Iraq as a foothold. we will never pull out of Iraq. Even if they elect a democrat (not likely) they will sit him down and explain to him whats happening and he will go before the country in his address and say Ummmmmm we wont be pulling out of iraq i was wrong and blah blah blah....

short answer? Because you cant trust radical muslims with the technology they are gaining...

first it was to get rid of sadaam hussein who did NOT pose a threat to us AT THAT TIME while we were fighting the terrorists in afghanistan... he may actually have been MORE afraid to do anything to our country after seeing the U.S. pissed and watching our troops in action in afghanistan

NOW the point of the war in iraq is to get rid of the terrorists who are killing each other and start a decent Iraqi Government... so we can finally leave that country...

First prove the Bush family was not soft. Second, oil. It sure was not about terror or WMD. Saddam and Osama represented two opposite extremes in the Arab world and hated each other.

the point of this war is nothing BUSH is just being BUSH. He has always been like this and people elceted him to be their president. I really don't understand that. Bush brought this war on so he should be getting punishment for all the innocent that are now dead becuase of him.

What good are sanctions if you won't back them up? Maybe there should be no sanctions against N. Korea either. Nobody wants to back them up. Hell just let Iran have nukes too. Maybe they can sell them to Usama, or some other nut.
