I can't speak for them. Only for myself.

I believe that you can have a set of morals if you do not have faith in God.

Underpinning this belief, however, is the fact that you did not create morals, you just selected what you liked from a preexisting menu.

The challenge for you--and anyone who believes as you do--is to determine the source of your morals. If it is a human source, your moral code is flexible and relative, and you are in eternal peril at the moment, because you are looking to humans to lay out the map for your eternal soul...and you are opening yourself up to exploitation, since moral codes put together by human minds for human minds are, as I said above, flexible and relative, and will eventually flex and relate to the relativist's mind-set and personal preferences, which ultimately serves the self. If the source is God, then you are in eternal peril at the moment for not honoring him by giving him credit and thanking him.

I believe in God, and am religious. But I know a (very good) friend of mine who doesn't, and isn't. And he is one of the guys I can trust to stand up for a woman, and one that I feel particularly safe with. Morals and religion are not the same thing. It would be great if everyone believed in one thing, or at least agreed to disagree, so there wouldn't be any more hatred between everyone anymore, but that's not possible. People will believe what they believe, and oftentimes part of that belief is that if someone doesn't believe what they do, they have to make them believe that way, which is wrong. I will tell you that I believe in God, and that He wants you to believe, too, but that's as far as I go.

What I believe is that every religion is very close to Human psychology, that's why when a person is aware that if he will do good and have to set certain morals in his/her life and will get reward it helps him to be strong and keep encouraged. On the other hand if you are week and don't believe on any religion and didn't set any morals in life, there are more chances that you will lose your right path. This rule apply on majority I am not saying its 100% true as its also depend on person to person.
For me religion is strong shield which protect you from many evils.

People are brainwashed into thinking that they can not survive, much less have morals, without their religious organization. But that is not the case.

Proof #1 - there are very moral people without belief in God.

Proof #2 - there are very moral people with belief in other Gods.

Proof #3 - there are very immoral people with belief in God.

Sorry, but truth is truth,

It is a false, moral principle, that to be a good, moral person one must believe in a god.

That one live a good, moral life is a major tenet in Buddhism, and yet Buddha did not believe in gods.

you certainly placed a super form of attempt into your question, and that i will see which you're obsessed on what you have self assurance and you think of for your self. i does no longer say that each and one and all atheists are moralists, the assertion is merely too huge. some are and a few are no longer. i do no longer think of that a faith is needed for a ethical code. My ethical code is a mix between Machiavelli and Epicurus. Machiavelli is of the opinion that the ends justify the flexibility and that i will see the experience in that. Epicurus perfected previously theory of eudaimonia. in accordance to Epicurus excitement is the perfect good and in case you leave human beings on my own they're going to come to realize that striving in the direction of the final excitement is the final good. In different words Epicurus believed that persons won't do issues to injury themselves or others in the event that they're rational and introduced on in the direction of excitement. (that's significant notice that Epicurus outstanding between good excitement and undesirable excitement using fact some fulfilling issues convey soreness interior the long term. So it extremely is not any longer smart to injury human beings regardless of if it brings you excitement interior the quick term.) there are a super form of ethical codes exterior usual faith and that i think of you're style of deluded in case you think of you like worry to be introduced on in the direction of an enhanced good using fact excitement does a greater useful interest besides. As for that finished communist component, we could no longer even flow there, yet in any appreciate i think of that's Jefferson who stated that "church buildings are as lots use as mild towers." Your founding fathers not at all needed a 'Christian State' yet an earthly state. very resembling the communists did.

Because they believe that God is the author of morality. If God is the author of morality, and you don't have God, you don't have morality.

This belief, however, poses a lot of its own problems...

1st of all religion is a man-made term, because he can't fathom or understand the knowledge or power of god whether u believe in god or not. relationship with jesus (or however u want to term it) is why we have a higher set of morals because of gods blessings on our lives (wheather u like it or not)
and no need to trivialize and call me self-righteous, for it's only through christ are we righteous.
i hope that wasn't too complicated
