Coming from someone who takes Zoloft and Xanax you really just remember to be careful with these sort of pills! Xanax and other tranqs are highly addictive(I know) and antidepressants can you mild to major side effects(only experienced the minor ones and I've tried quite a few). It'd most likely only be OCD(I've got it) if you have compulsions that you feel you need to carry out related to these thoughts(if they're actually obsessions and I don't mean like torturing kittens but more like doing some to make you feel less negative about those kind of thoughts and that's if they're actually obsessions). There's drugs are there that block certain thoughts although no brand name still being made comes to mind but they're generally for people with things like Psychosis and other major mental illnesses. Stress can bring on things like racing thoughts especially if you already have an anxiety disorder of some type. Definitely don't ask for a certain type of pill(it could look like you're trying to get them for an addition, especially in the case of tranqs and other addictive pills even if you don't). Just tell your shrink everything that's relevant and if they're any good they're should be able to work out something for you either with or without pills. Anyway pills that block thoughts or reduce your tendency to care about things can seriously effect your studies!

The problem is how can you turn your mind off and still comprehend what you are studying? There are drugs for anxiety that will help you relax, such as Xanax, Zoloft, and all of the other SSRIs, but these aren't just medications you should take like candy, they are serious drugs used to treat serious problems. Perhaps, you don't need medication as much as a better diet, more exercise or any of the other million things that can affect mental performance.

Sounds like you're talking about trouble concentrating and maintaining focus (?), and there are drugs that can help with those things but I don't think it would be very healthy to try to block any thought that occurs to you out of the blue.

It could be obsessive compulsive disorder, because some people who have that illness have random thoughts that pop in their head and they cant stop thinking about them and they keep thinking about them, and if so there certainly is a medication for it.

yes
there are medications that can help you concentrate better
(ADD medicines like Concerta, Strattera, Adderall, etc.)

and there are medicines that can help stop intrusive thoughts
(anti-depressants, anxiolytics, even anti-psychotics)

don't ask for any specific pills...
just tell your doctor about all the problems you are having and he or she will know what should work best for you.

No. Why don't you get some help with your studies. There are companies that will teach you new ways to better your concentration.

There are no drugs, not vitamins, supplements....nothing.

There are medications out there that will make you so you don't even remember your name. Talk to your psychiatrist about meds.

Yes, there is a pill for everything. However, it may not work for you so try something else. When that doesn't work try something else.
