sounds kinda like Little Bunny FuFu ... ah, or maybe Little Rabbit?
"Little Rabbit
* In a cabin in the woods, little old man by the window stood.
* Saw a rabbit hopping by, frightened as can be.
* "Help me, help me, help me." He said,
* "Before the hunter shoots me dead."
* Come little rabbit, come inside; safely at my side."

I used to sing this song as a child and the lyrics at that time were "before the hunter shoots me dead". My daughter has the Wee Sing Children's Songs and Fingerplays CD and book which features this song. It gives the tune, lyrics, and also the handmotions. The Wee SIng version says "bops my head" as you describe. Wee Sing also has the last line as "warm up by the fire" which I think is kind of lame. I've never heard it that way and think they just changed the lyric because they think modern children won't know the word "abide", which I think is great for them to learn. Anyway, the hand motions go:
Little cabin in the woods (make a house and roof with hands, fingers bent)
Little man by the window stood (shade your eyes, look back and forth)
Saw a rabbit hopping by (make a rabbit with two fingers, make it hop)
Knocking at my door (pretend to knock)
Help me, help me, sir! he said (wave hands up and down on each 'help me')
'fore the hunter shoots me dead/bops my head (pretend to aim a rifle or bop yourself on the head)
Little rabbit come inside (make a "come here" waving gesture)
Safely to abide (pretend to pet a rabbit)
Have fun!

Title: Little Cabin in the Wood
Little cabin in the woods, little old man by the window stood.
Saw a rabbit hopping by, knocking at his door..
"Help me, help me, help me!" he said.
"Before the hunter shoots me dead."
"Come little rabbit, come inside; safely you’ll abide."
Hope this is what you're looking for.

In a cottage in a wood,
A little old man at the window stood.
Saw a rabbit running by,
Knocking at the door.
"Help me, help me please", he said,
"Before that gunman shoots me dead!"
"Come little rabbit, come with me.
HAPPY WE WILL BE

Little Bunny Foo Foo,
Hopping through the forest
Scooping up the field mice
And boppin' 'em on the head
Down came the good fairy and she said
"Little Bunny Foo Foo,
I don't want to see you
Scooping up the field mice
And boppin' 'em on the head.
I'll give you three chances,
And if you don't behave
I'll turn you into a goon!"
The next day:
Little Bunny Foo Foo,
Hopping through the forest
Scooping up the field mice
And boppin' 'em on the head
Down came the good fairy and she said
"Little Bunny Foo Foo,
I don't want to see you
Scooping up the field mice
And boppin' 'em on the head.
I'll give you two more chances,
And if you don't behave
I'll turn you into a goon!"
The next day:
Little Bunny Foo Foo,
Hopping through the forest
Scooping up the field mice
And boppin' 'em on the head
Down came the good fairy and she said

And you didn't behave
Now you're a goon! POOF!!"
