Thinking about moving to nj. I heard Princeton is expensive. Are there any other parts near princeton that are nice with great school districts and good commute to nyc?

I live in Cranbury, NJ (East Windsor) and it's about 15 minutes to Princeton by car. We pay around $1200/month for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment.
If you were to live in Princeton, expect to pay around $1600 for a shoebox apartment. Princeton really isn't that big anyway compared to NYC. It's a nice little walk around the town but I wouldn't live there if I wanted to save money.

From Cranbury, NJ there is a train station called Princeton Junction about 15 minutes away by car. And you can take that train to NYC in about an hour. The terminal is at Grand Central.

The area is nice, but expensive.
The Princeton Junction train station is over an hour from New York Penn Station, and forget driving, 2 hours each way, on a good day.
