i thought if we can create an image of the dvd and then burn to vcd is it possible if yes how??

acc to me the possible solution is....
copy the DVD file onto ur hardisk......
use dvd(avi or divx) to mpeg convertor,,,,
then cut that mpeg file into aappropriate cd sized clips....
and write onto a cd in vcd format

yes u can use Cyberlink Power producer software in that use the make a movie project option and then just open the DVD movie file and then burn the same file as VCD movie on a cd simple

Yes,but you need a dvd ripper software,first you rip the dvd from your combo drive and convert it to vcd or any format of your choice using another software if your dvd ripper does not support conversion.

its just impossible.
u have to just copy the content to the hard disk and write it into another cd seperatly.
