buy cat toothpaste. I don't think a cat would let you near it with human toothpaste anyways. My 3 cats hate the smell of mint and hiss if they smell it! Candy Canes are a blast around my house! It's the only thing my cats won't eat! Baby or training tooth paste might be a good option because it's safe if swallowed, but cat toothpaste is meat flavored and more than likely, the cat might let you brush it's teeth.

Why are you giving your cat toothpaste? Do not do it. There is a lot of fluoride in toothpaste, enough for it to be dangerous for children to swallow. If you need to brush your cats' teeth, get the toothpaste for animals from the pet store.

Toothpaste contains flouride. Flouride is toxic if you get too much of it in your system. This is why they state to use only a pea-sized drop for children, and only a small amount for adults. So in answer to your question, I would not give people toothpaste to a cat or a dog. You can, however, get toothpaste meant for dogs and cats from your vet or from a pet supply store like Petco or PetsMart.

It won't kill them, but it's not recommended. If human toothpaste is all you have, then only use a little bit. Even better than using human toothpaste would be to get some specifically formulated for cats at a pet supply store. If toothpaste is swallowed in abundance, it can make a cat sick (this goes for humans as well!)

Why would you want to give your cat toothpaste. No it is not safe. But then your cat would have to be a little off to allow you to give it toothpaste.

No. If you are asking because you're going to brush the cat's teeth, there is specially made toothpaste for cats and dogs. Either ask your vet or go to a pet store, such as Petco.

Your toothpaste is fatal to cats. The fluoride is what kills them. Go to a pet store and get pet toothpaste. It comes in beef and poultry flavors. I'm glad to hear you want to brush your cat's teeth! I thought I was the only one who did that!!

Well, if people are not supposed to swallow it then it would be wrong for your cat to. Although I heard small amounts were ok in people I would think it would not be safe for your cat cause a cat would more than likely swallow all of it and if it's not safe for people then it would definately be harmful to your cat.
