Not only are diet pills not effective, they are dangerous to your health. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THEM!!!!!!
"Diet pills generally do one or two of a few things: they may suppress appetite, increase metabolism, block fat absorption, or even make use of laxatives to flush the body of waste and fluid. The chemicals in the diet pills that helps them accomplish these things have been known to cause varying side effects. Some of the best known of these are anxiety, insomnia, heart palpitations or attacks, stroke, fever, dry mouth, blurred vision, hair loss, disturbance in sex drive and menstruation, urinary tract problems, digestive problems, and even congestive heart failure. There are numerous others as well, so the risks can be high when it comes to side effects with diet pills.

The other danger with diet pills is addiction. " (see first web source below)

There is no quick fix. If you're stil reading and aren't hell-bent on doing what you want to do anyways (boy, do I know that one!) Here's something I do when I go out to eat (which is for me the most challenging time to eat healthily). When I get my entree, I immediately separate it in half. Then I take half home, and I have a fabulous lunch the next day! This keeps me from overeating and getting that oh-i'm-way-too-full thanksgiving-belly-ache! As long as you eat specific things in moderation, you can eat whatever you like.
Also, you may want to condider the Master Cleanse, which is a great way of re-calibrating your system, detoxifying everything, and making you more sensitive to what you're putting in your body. Some people also use it to lose weight, but I don't think that is the most successful approach. To approach from viewing yourself as a whole organism includes taking into account not just the physical, but the emotional, mental, and spiritual as well.
Best of luck,
kaylaa

i have rad everyone answers and it seems like everyone is telling you the truth about diet pills. The only thing is that they are lying saying that they DONT work. They do. BUT there is HUGE side effects! Take it from me. I took Phentermine 37.5mg 1xday. In 3months I lost 40lbs!!! Yes I looked and felt great. BUT coming off those pills made me crazy! I started getting the WORST panic attacks/anxiety attacks!!! They were pretty bad and I was treated in the ER more than a couple of times. So there is PILLS out there that DO WORK.....Just be careful......Good Luck!

Let me explain something to you. Diet pills shed water from fat cells, the problem is it also dehydrates you. Which means if your exercising your muscles are going to need a shot of sucrose (sugar) [fruit smoothies work well] to help stabalize the lactose burn. And muscles cannot effectivly repair themselvs after exercise without proper hydration. so that combination of diet pills and exercise is very bad. just concentrate on working out and watching what you eat. The biggest problems americans have is late night eating. cause when you sleep your body stores all those calories as fat. When selecting foods to eat keep this in mind, our bodies are lazy they want to make conserving energy easier so by eating a animal fat product since its soo closely related to our own fat cells, the body will not burn it right away unless that is all it has to burn. Instead it will store that fat directly into our own fat cells. This goes for all fats on meats. so its best to stay away from them. Buy lean hamburger and skinless chicken. And dont think a mc chicken from mc donalds is a healthy choice, the shredded chicken parts are held together by animal fat. Stick with the grilled chicken breast.
Hope this helps

Everyone's different, so everyone reacts differently to different products. You need to try a few kinds and make your own opinion.
