I am trying to save some files from my hard drive onto a CD-RW, however when i try to alter these files it says they are read-only. I have tried to change to the properties to remove the read-only option. Then it comes up with an error message. Is there any way to remove this to save and alter these files accordingly!

Well, open up My Computer and remember the drive letter that the cd gets assigned (if you have more than one drive). When you are in your program and are about to save, make sure you use the drop down to select that drive. Afterward, you will have to navigate back to the cd and write to the disk. This can be done numerous ways, usually depending on the type of software you have installed. XP defaults to right clicking and choosing write to cd.

drag your file into your CD-RW drive on your "my computer." Once it's copied, you will see an icon that says burn these files to CD. click that and the wizard will appear. good luck!

copy the entire document and paste it into a new word document and save it. Then it will not be read-only anymore.
