It's virtually impossible to not get red on something when eating a pomegranate. It's part of the experience. You can totally avoid it by purchasing pure pomegranate juice.

I used to ruin about half of the seed while peeling and seeding a pomegranate. Then I began to do it this way. First with a knife peel all the leathery skin off then remove the top and the bottom these cuts should not be to deep because you can pop the seeds. then grasping the fruit in both hands pull it apart. Then begin to seed it into a bowl or colander, when done rinse the seeds off in a bowl. The bitter pith will rise to the top and can be removed. Then dry and enjoy. I really love pomegranates my dad had a bush or tree in the yard and now is when they are best. It is a lot of work but well worth it.

Why bother with all that mess when you can buy the juice at the store? I usually find it by the bagged salad, not sure why, but it has all the nutrients and none of the red hands!
