I had the same problem. Only I didn't even get acne until my mid twenties. I tried every product out there including ones prescribed by my dermatologist. The only thing I found to get rid of them was honey. I know it sounds absurd but it really does work. Honey is a natural antibiotic which is why it works so well for people when they have colds. All you have to do is put raw honey on the blemishes and then put a bandage on them. Sleep with the honey and bandage and when you get up in the morning you will notice a big difference. All the redness will be gone and the bumps should be at least half the size by morning. Just keep doing it every night until the bumps are gone. Once you get it cleared up to keep new blemishes from appearing put straight Vitamin A and E on your face two to three times a week. Not only will it keep your face clear but it will also make for a very soft smooth face. Just buy the vitamins in the capsules and cut the capsules open, squeeze the contents into the palm of your hand, and mix together. You can sleep with it on as well. Good luck....I hope this works for you. I know how frustrated you are having tried all the guaranteed to work products.

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!
Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:
1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.
There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

Where are your "problem areas" at? I have perioral dermatitis and have "breakouts" on the sides of my mouth and chin. They usually aren't to bad, just around my time of month is when it gets the worst.
If you have the same thing there isn't much you can do, they don't know what causes it and they don't know how to fix it. I have also tried proactive and prescription medications. They were going to put me on accutane, but I said NO WAY!
The only thing that has really helped me is a microdermabrasion cloth I found on eBay, yes eBay. If you would like to know who I got it from, email me. I use it lightly every day and it really has helped! I still get a little bit of breakouts here and there, but it's a lot better than before!
By the way, im now 26!

Hunny, I'm 25 and still get the ocassional breakout and usually have at least one tiny blemish somewhere on my face... It may just be a part of your genetic make up. Acne/pimples isn't something just teenagers have to deal with... Most adults get a blemish from time to time. It's no big deal... If you really care that much about it and you don't have insurance to see a dermatologist then go to your college health center and have them give you something for it....
Some people have the genetics for flawless skin and others don't ... that's the way the dice roll! Best Wishes to you!

Stress can cause break outs. You might also look at your diet and see what types of foods you eat. Try to avoid fatty foods as this can increase the amount of oil in your skin. Lots of women your age still get acne, even into their 40s some women do. It would be best if you could see a dermatologist to get an expert's advice, but search Google for dermatologist info and read up on what other options you can do, it's free. Best of luck!

If your skin is too susceptible to drying, then heavy doses of salicylic acid will definitely make it worse (your skin will produce even more oil to compensate for the oil the acid gets rid of). Most people instinctively try to "attack" the acne with strong products, but what problematic acne really needs a gentle cleanser, gentle washing, and no touching.
The Hudson's FTM Resource Guide says: "Many alcohol-based facial products will dry the skin. While clearing excess oil from the face can be a good thing when trying to prevent acne, if skin becomes to be too dried out it will tend to produce even more oil to compensate, potentially causing additional breakouts. The use of a quality, non-comedogenic (non-pore-clogging) moisturizer in combination with gentle cleansing and acne medications can help the skin stay balanced and healthy. Look for moisturizers that are specifically labeled as "non-comedogenic" and fragrance free, so they cause as little irritation and clogging as possible."
I've looked at a couple of different common brands, like Clinique and Neutrogena, but the one that looks best is Aveeno.
Aveeno has a line of products called "Clear Complexion" which are all soap-free, oil-free, hypoallergenic, and noncomedogenic. They're really gentle, which is exactly what your face needs, rather than something abrasive or harsh. Check them out, there's everything from a foaming cleanser, to cleansing pads, a cleansing bar, and more. http://www.aveeno.com/productListAction.do?pid=3000
There are lesser-known higher-end companies that also make nice anti-acne products or kits. Here are some:

I feel your pain; I'm in the same situation. My dermatologist recommended Neutrogena products. The face wash in the blue pump bottle is very gentle but is great at cleaning - it's also a great make-up remover. Their moisturizers are also great! Try the redness reducing moisturizer, which comes in a small pump bottle. Hope this helps a little! Good luck!

You may have sensitive skin; therefore, harsh products will only make it worse. Here are a few suggestions:
more water; change pillow cases frequently; try a natural goat's milk soap; leave them alone...not scratching or picking; vinegar on the area can calm and the acid helps get rid of the acne.
Hope this helps.

Frustrating! You have to wait until your body chemistry sttles down from the changes it went through at puberty. Sad but true. Be patient, it will subside in time. May not go away all together, but it will become a lot more manageable. Hang in there!
